#Guestauthor J.P. McLean (@jpmclean1) is back! Come and check her news! And some #Valentine’s offers! http://ow.ly/3bdNkk

I am a language teacher, writer, bookworm, and collaborator at Sants 3 Ràdio (a local radio station in Barcelona, where I returned in 2018), who lived in the UK for 25 years and worked for many years as a forensic psychiatrist there. I also have a Ph.D. in American Literature and an MSc in Criminology. I started publishing my stories, in English and Spanish, in 2012 and now have over twenty books available in a variety of genres, a blog (in English and Spanish), and translate books for other authors (English-Spanish and vice versa). In 2020 obtained the CELTA certificate as a language teacher, and offer Spanish and English classes. Writers and readers both in English and Spanish are my friends, colleagues, and allies, and after living in the UK for over twenty-five years, have returned home, to Barcelona, Spain, searching for inspiration for my stories. I also love owls and try to keep fit following fitness YouTube videos.

The only other thing it occurs to me is that there are two links to sign, one is for the blog and one is the newsletter. The newsletter I only send once a month or so, but it’s not the same link. I’m sure you would have noticed that…

Thanks, Janet. Yes, I checked with the people who host my page and they checked and it was working. It could either be that the e-mail went to spam (it needs to be confirmed before posts are sent) or the subscription got confusing. Now the subscription to my newsletter has become a pop up thing, and the one to the blog is just on a widget on the side. We’ll see… Thanks and happy Valentine’s!

You’re now signed to my newsletter, Janet. The blog thingy is on the side, at the top. I suspect it might be a problem with spam if you’ve signed there…

Thanks, Pete. I’m not sure either. I wonder if the site recognises the e-mail and blocks it but I’ll get in touch with the people who run the website, although it might be a wordpress thing…

Yes, I also wondered about that. Definitely my host checked and the e-mail subscription was working. Unless it’s a WordPress thing, but I don’t know… Oh well…

I’ve checked with the hosts and the e-mail subscription is working. I’ve changed the sign-up for the e-mail list that’s now a pop-up box (sorry!). The other thought I have, if it’s not that, is that they send a confirmation e-mail and it might have gone to Spam, but I’m sure you would have checked that. Otherwise your e-mail doesn’t like my site.
