You’ve reached The Armadillo Files… and we’re back! Thanks for bearing with me while I finished “Dead of Winter.” Now back to the free story.

Random Reader Things

Since Dan Antion just launched his first novel, it felt right that his “three things” helped guide this new episode. Those things are: knight, robe, and necklace.

Previously in The Armadillo Files

Dilly and Fang “landed” in a cave that appears to be in tenth century Bagdad. They ran afoul of Ali Baba’s wicked brother, Cassim. He’s a greedy guy who might have sold them into slavery, given the chance. Hmmm… could that have anything to do with the fate of the missing Calutron Girls in the 1940s? It turned out Ali Baba is a woman. We also met Sesame.

If you need to refresh your memory, you…

No matter what personal issues or work on my own books is going on in my life, I try my best to support my indie author colleagues.  Today I’m sharing in the launch of Dan Antion’s debut book, Knuckleheads.  It’s the first book in a series.  For the post here at my blog, I asked Dan to answer one question.  He generously wrote the following post.  Other than formatting this post, none of the words or images were written or created by me.

Take it away, Dan…

The Journeys of “Dead of Winter” have reached the conclusion.  Next weekend The Armadillo Files will return.  So, if you need to refresh your memory before the next bit of zaniness with Fang and Dilly, go to the categories on the right side of the screen.  Click on Armadillo Files.

Since so many author friends are launching books this month, I didn’t give the conclusion to Dead of Winter the attention it deserves.  But you can help me by reblogging my announcement post.

To reblog, Just click here.  At the bottom of your screen look for the three dots . . . beside “Follow.”  Click the dots.  You’ll see an option for “View Post in Reader.”  Click that.  Then scroll to the bottom of the post, within the Reader, and you’ll find a “SHARE” option.  Click the < symbol, and then…

The Journeys of “Dead of Winter” have reached the conclusion. In honor of the release of the final Journey, I’m making a Thursday Doors post related to the story.

The heroine’s home was the family apple orchard.  Emlyn might have made a wreath like this one.

Emlyn’s chores included caring for and milking the family goats. They would have had to paint this blue door after the oppressive Brethren of Un’Naf took over the area.

Nearby was a cemetery called The Fever Field. Some scary things happened there, especially beyond the door of this mausoleum.

When Emlyn fled for her life, her travel companions had wonderful wagons with doors.

The travelers found ruins that hid the Lost Library.  Archways were where doors had once been.

The Journeys of “Dead of Winter” have reached the conclusion.

All the Journeys

Blurb

From the very beginning, a prophecy from a creepy voice threaded throughout this story.  “Winter is coming!” it warned.  As the Journeys progressed, we became aware of additional related prophesies like one of the “lost white brother” and “the frozen sands.”  Both of those are touched on in this concluding novella.

Other threads from the previous thirteen Journeys also come together in this volume, which concludes Dead of Winter.

I see this conclusion as a two-part ending.  Without giving spoilers, the first brings the action to a head and resolves that aspect.

The second is much more than an epilogue.  It resolves the issue of the destroyed Veil which separated the Realm of the Living from the Realm of the Dead.  Because many readers said they…

Teagan Geneviene reveals the cover for the final Journey in Dead of Winter, and it’s a stunner!

Teagan's Books

You know that if I’m doing a cover reveal, then that means the book will soon be released, right?  The concluding Journey of “Dead of Winter” is written, formatted, and is undergoing final edits.

Those who follow and encourage me on Facebook have seen me post a lot of potential covers. I suppose all those cover concepts reflect the fact that I had to pull together numerous threads and characters.  I also wanted to hint at potentials for the future of the characters. That way, the Journeys can continue in the imaginations of readers.

At the very beginning, I decided that I would only do actual launches for the first and last novelettes. I’ve only done announcements here at this blog for the other 12 installments.  Releasing this conclusion is a very big deal for me, since my personal “journey” for this story began…

I’m still here… I’m still away from blogging to finish the conclusion of Dead of Winter.  …And I still miss you all.  So, I’m popping in long enough to say hello.

No, this is not the cover for Journey 14.  It’s a teaser.

Prophesies

Some of you will remember that a prophecy from a creepy voice threaded throughout this story, from the very beginning. “Winter is coming,” it warned.  As the Journeys progressed, we became aware of additional related prophesies like one of the “lost white brother” and “the frozen sands.”  Both of those are touched on in the conclusion.  I’m also corralling a lot of other things that took place over the previous 1,500 pages.
